Crazy for chia!

We love our chia seeds here at The Compounding Pharmacy! We stock a variety of sized packets of these super foods!

They pack a mean nutritional punch. Think protein, fat and dietary fibre! Plus all important minerals including magnesium, iron and calcium!

They are a great source of Omega 3’s! Perfect for vegetarians and vegans.

They keep you regular! Chia seeds contain a lot of soluble fibre, to keep your gut happy!

They are incredibly versatile. Add to cookies or other baked goods. Sprinkle on salads. Add milk and make a chia pudding for breakfast. Add a 1/4 cup of water to 1 tbsp and you have an egg replacer for baked goods.

They can aid hydration. A perfect pre-workout snack! Or add some chia seeds to your water bottle today :)


So how about a recipe? 

Basic Chia Pudding 

3/4 cup chia seeds
2 cups almond milk (or coconut milk, or regular milk)
1-2 drops of stevia

Mix the ingredients together in a bowl and let them rest for a few moments. Place in the fridge to thicken up overnight (or for at least two hours).

In the morning add whatever mix-ins you desire! Our favourites:

  • Shredded coconut
  • Goji berries
  • A teaspoon of a nut butter, like peanut or almond
  • Chopped bananas
  • Stewed apples
  • Spices like cinnamon or nutmeg
