Is your News Years Resolution to give up smoking?

NutritionMum’s Natter – Is your New Years Resolution to give up smoking?

Easy to make resolutions about giving up smoking but not so easy to follow. Nicotine is the addictive substance found in cigarettes. Withdrawal symptoms that can occur include:

  • Anxiety, anger, frustration, irritability
  • Increase in hunger, concentration problems, headaches, elevated blood pressure and stomach cramps.
  • Overwhelming cravings for nicotine

Smoking has a harmful affect on our nutrition. Smokers need an increased amount of Vitamin C to compensate for smoking which depletes Vitamin C. Consider Eagle’s Beta A-C powder which provides not only Vitamin C but also beta carotene which helps heal the mucus membrane areas such as lungs & nasal passages. Additionally it contains zinc which is important for the immune system.

Also consider taking a B complex formula such as Eagle’s TresosB PlusSe which beneficial to take whilst giving up smoking providing valuable support to the nervous system.

Should anxiety prove troublesome, consider Oriental Botanical’s Anxiolift, to help calm the mind and spirit and aid in helping to relieve symptoms of mild anxiety, stress fatigue and irritability. Always check for cautions and contraindications before taking supplements.
